The rumors swirling around the web for last several days were correct. Today it was announced that Google was buying YouTube for a whopping 1.65 BILLION DOLLARS.
What does it mean to bloggers? Google Video and YouTube have equipped bloggers with the ability to embed videos without the need of software downloads, bandwidth, etc. I believe this recent buy by Google will end up being a good thing. Google has a history of empowering bloggers (Adsense, Adwords, blogger, etc.) It appears that they are willing to continue to offer a great medium for users. Google will continue to montetize and will profit from the medium.
What does it mean to surfers? More and more videos for free.
So what is the catch? The same catch that always rears its ugly head with every internet advancement, copyright regulations. The Media masters of yesterday are trying to control the internet like they did the radio and TV. It will not work. The great sites of today are great not because of back room discussions of a few rich men but because of millions of independent users. We do not use Google or any search engines to find the websites of huge corporations but all those other independently created sites that fill our distinct interests.
The internet is a freedom-based product. Free information exchange. It is a medium that will continue to empower its users as long as major corporations and the government do not strip it away from us. We will not allow that to happen.

The television network NBC recently decided to add Veggie Tales to their Saturday morning cartoon lineup. At first this sounded like a good thing. As a father of four little children, I have viewed most of the Veggie Tale videos. They incorporate the Bible, Jesus, and morals into their stories. Airing this on nationwide television will be great.
WRONG. NBC, since signing the deal, has opted to remove references to God and especially Bible verses. These have been deemed offensive.
In a related story, NBC has also decided to air a two-hour concert of Madonna. In it she is placed on a mirrored cross, wearing a fake crown of thorns and sings while “crucified”. Madonna was raised Roman Catholic, and she has since converted to Kabbalistic Judaism. She has a long history of sacrilege in her “music”. This current instance of mocking of Jesus has not been found “religious” or “offensive” by NBC.
Some religious and family groups are protesting these decisions by NBC.
Mainstream media is actively working against Christian Americans. They are working to destroy you and your children. Entertainment has become the great American pastime. Watching TV is one of the only activities families do together. How long will we minimize our faith for the sake of entertainment?
Wake up. There is a war going on. It is a spiritual war being waged against the Word of God. That is why they hate the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you were looking for a reason to turn off your TV, I have given you two.
What is wrong with a group people who think it is ok for a singer to be crucified on TV but it is wrong for a cucumber to say “God”?
